METALSA CENTER

Design: Brooks + Scarpa
Role: Designer
Location: Monterrey, Mexico
Concept Design: 2012

Metalsa designs automotive parts for major manufacturers throughout the world. They approached Brooks + Scarpa to design a new research and development facility for their headquarters in Monterrey, Mexico. The facility needed to contain warehouse space for manufacturing, research labs, offices, parking, and landscaped courtyards. The project provides Metalsa with a much needed expansion and is also the first LEED platinum building in Mexico, identifying Metalsa as a leader in technological advancement and sustainable practices. Brooks + Scarpa completed the project through design development. As a Designer, my role was to work on one of three schematic designs to propose to Metalsa for selection. Key features of this scheme included offices that look out into the warehouse space and an atrium that opens onto an expansive courtyard. For this proposal, I created the renderings and drawings shown here.
